Chae-Lo

Starting Weight: 160 Lbs.

Ending Weight: 158 Lbs.

I was actually really excited to start the military diet. I was finishing college, and then moving across the country. I hadn’t been eating really healthily for a week or two and was ready to just jump into something.

I had already tried the group challenge for Apple Cider Vinegar, which was disappointing, but I had high hopes for this diet!

The only thing I wasn’t excited about with the Military Diet was the eggs. I hate eggs. It doesn’t matter how eggs are cooked, they are disgusting. Except for in Honduras. I loved how the eggs are cooked there… but pretty much eggs are nasty.

Day 1

So the first day, I was actually taking a giant online test. My plan was to take it in the morning, because I usually get weak in the afternoons, (thank you autoimmune disease!) and I didn’t want to fail my test by being too hungry on a new diet.

Because I don’t drink coffee, I decided to drink Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with grape juice with breakfast. Yeah, don’t know why I thought that was a good idea. It was NASTY. My sisters said it was good, but they are liars!

Breakfast I followed perfectly. (Click Here for the Military Diet 3-Day Menu)

I had more studying to do in the afternoon, so I packed my lunch. Oh man, my brain was exhausted and I could not function!

I stuck to the menu for dinner too.

Pretty much the first day, I was weak but excited to try this diet out. But I was also worried. I can feel in my stomach when my body is lacking in food or sleep. I think it might be connected with my Hashimoto’s disease, I assume just because its happening to me.

Anyway, I could feel that dull pain, like an itch that hurts, that you can’t itch.

I was okay sticking with the diet, but knew I hadn’t given my body enough for the day.

Day 2

The second day I hadn’t eaten as much as I needed either. I followed the schedule pretty well. The toast and crackers were gluten-free. I did find that peanut butter with toast worked really well for me. I have a hard time finding breakfast foods and now I know this is a good choice for me. I don’t like peanut butter usually, but I’d eat it again with the toast.

I love cottage cheese. but eating a whole cup of just cottage cheese made me want to throw up. It was so gross.

Day 3

The third and last day, I did pretty good. Until the evening. Instead of eating all that tuna (or chicken) I just had chips and cheese instead, because I as like ‘nope’.

The first few days I lost a lot of weight! Like 2 lbs each day! But it turns out my scale was a little wacky, so in the end I only lost about 2 lbs total. But it looked like I had lost a ton more during the diet.

Pros

What I like most was that it gave me ideas of what to eat. To do this long term, I’d have to eat a little more. My sister and I talked about it and we agreed that the green beans, chicken, broccoli and hot dogs were things we’d be willing to eat again.

Cons

The worst part for me was that, by the third day, I was just so starving and ready to eat anything and everything! I would do this as a jump start to a diet, but only the first 2 days. Then move on to a different diet the third day so I’m not crazy hangry.

So there you have my opinion. Only the first 2 days were worth it. 🙂
