Lemon Water for Weight Loss- Diet Challenge Group Review

We at tryitdietsisters, have taken on another diet! This diet was all about how you can drink lemon water for weight loss.

For 2 weeks, we were supposed to drink fresh-squeezed lemons, with water, and the claim was that we could lose up to 20 lbs in 14 days.

And to be clear, some of us kept our regular diet, but some of us tried to be low carb and sugar -free during this time as well.

Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water.

Lemons are pretty impressive. They are high in vitamin C, Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, and other good for you nutrients.

They help balance your PH.

Here Is The Basics Of The Lemon Detox

Every morning, you drink lemon and water.

  • Day one: 1 lemon, 1 cup of water.
  • Day two: 2 lemons, 2 cups of water.
  • Day three: 3 cups of lemons, 3 cups of water.
  • Day four: 4 cups of lemons, 4 cups of water (at this point, you can split up the doses between morning and night).
  • Day five: 5 lemons, 5 cups of water.
  • Day six: 6 cups of water, 6 cups of lemons.

Day seven: 3 lemons in 10 cups of water, drink throughout the day.

Then the final week, you go back down:

  • Day eight: 6 cups of water, 6 lemons,
  • Day nine: 5 cups of water, 5 lemons . . .etc,
  • . . . And on the 14th day, you repeat day 7.

Altogether it’s almost 50 lemons that you drink in 2 weeks!

We had a group of 5 women try this in our facebook challenge group (click here if you want to be a part of our challenges)

Very quickly we ran into some unpleasant problems.

First of all, the lemon to water ratio was a little ridiculous. One woman measured the amount of lemon juice she got from a single lemon, and it was 5 oz! (google says it should be around 2 oz) Maybe we all just bought giant lemons.

It was very sour. But some of the veteran dieters who had done an apple-cider vinegar challenge (see here the results), were already used to drinking sour stuff.

About 4 days into it, the acidic-ness of the lemons started affecting the lining in the back of our throats. All of us had raw and tender throats that burned a little while after drinking the lemon water.

At this point a few felt like it was not worth damaging their bodies to see it through. And I agree! If you try something, anything, that damages you, Stop!

Pretty much everyone stopped between day 5 and day 7, except for me. I’m a die-hard sometimes. But even with low carb and sugar-free. I gained a pound by the end of the 14 days. I will say this though. It took away all feeling of hunger. After drinking the 1+ cups of lemon water in the mornings, I wouldn’t even think about food till close to 3:00 in the afternoon! Was that the lemons? Or was it more the focus on drinking water? We don’t know…

The biggest lesson learned here is that you should not believe everything you read on the internet.

Sometimes I have felt so frustrated with my weight, that I cannot seem to lose it, and I hope to find a ‘secret to success’ diet food that if I only ate this one food, I would magically turn on my ‘fat burning system’.

So far as a group, we have tried half a dozen such items, and the best we found was Chia Seeds. And even they weren’t the “lose 20 pounds” kind of magic.

Honestly, the most effective diet that I have tried is still the keto diet. If done right, it has, and can continue to, help many people who struggle with weight loss to finally find hope. Here is my 1 week keto meal plan if you are interested in getting started.

I’ve tried a lot of diets in my life, I do lose some, but it always comes back. Now I’m doing intermittent fasting. It’s not a quick loss diet, it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. It’s a “ Brain “ thing. I’m about 6 weeks in and I’ve lost 13 pounds. I’ve almost given up a couple of times, but I keep telling myself to keep going.

Im drinking warm water daily an hour before breakfast with 20 mns exercise...it works..with less sugar without starving small portions of meals....it has become a lifestyle ...the weight loss is gradual
