Kamree’s 3 – Day Military Diet Review

Starting Weight: 263 Lbs.

Ending Weight: 258 Lbs.

So the Military Diet Reviews… The idea is to lose weight up to 10 pounds in a week. I lost 5. Which was just fine with me. 🙂

I was SUPER skeptical about this diet. I mean, have you looked at what you can eat??? I’ll be honest, I was worried I would be hangry and ornery the WHOLE time.  But, surprisingly, I wasn’t, and I actually had a lot of fun with this diet.

It was 3 days. I can do anything for 3 days, right? I also viewed it as a challenge. I LOVED knowing EXACTLY what to eat, and it was soooo cheap! Because, to be real, there was almost no nutritional value in anything. 🙂

I did substitute some things, and ate a few things not “approved” in the military diet plan, but I’m okay with that.

Here’s rundown of my meals:

Day 1.
Breakfast:

Toast

1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter (instead of 2)

1/2 Grapefruit

Lunch:

1/2 C Shredded Chicken

1 Tbsp. Mayo (saved from the Peanut Butter. Calories are the same)

Toast

Dinner:

3 oz. Steak

1 cup Mixed Veggies (peppers, zucchini, onion, and NO GREEN BEANS)

8 chunks of Pineapple (instead of banana)

1 small Apple

3/4 C. Carmel Surprise Ice-Cream (same calories as vanilla ice cream)

Extra I had:

1 Mini Reeses cup

2 Small Grapes

1 Taffy Candy

1 Mini Ice-Cream Sandwich.

I kept track, and I was still right around the 1300 you’re supposed to be the first day. I mean, in my first 2 meals I had only eaten 480 calories total.

The next morning, I weighed 261.2

Day 2:

I ate breakfast and lunch together, because my morning was crazy and I forgot to eat. This was about noon.

I had left over Keto Egg Loaf that needed to be eaten, so I had that instead of the 2 different eggs. Other than that, no substitutions.

But that loaf is probably way more calories… 🤷‍♀️

Then I proceeded to have a CRAZY busy day.

About 5:30, we were headed to a class, and the exhaustion hit me. Nauseous, headache, STARVING! Etc.

I fully intended to eat the 2 hot dogs that were on the menu, but we were in a hurry and my hubby chose Arby’s.

So I ate that for dinner. A sandwich, no fries or drink though.

But then at our class, they had popcorn and tootsie rolls…😋

So, I pretty much splurged on the dinner meal.

The next morning, on the start of Day 3, I weigh 259.6. So down 3.4 pounds so far!

I’m planning on finishing the day strong! 💪👊

Day 3:
Breakfast:

5 Saltine crackers, 1 apple, 1 slice of cheese.

Lunch:

Toast and 1 egg and 1 Cream Soda Zevia

Dinner:

½ banana, 3 crackers, 1 cup shredded chicken instead of Tuna, because I’m allergic.

Oh my gosh… this was the by FAR THE WORST meal! Have you ever tried to eat a CUP of plain shredded meat? YUCK!  I know I wasn’t supposed to have anything else, but I COULD NOT eat the chicken by itself! I literally had to gag it down even with the crackers. I was so so so glad this was the last meal, because it was disgusting.

Thank goodness for the ice cream at the end of the day though!

Like I said before, all in all, I had a lot of fun with this diet! I ended at 258.2, so not bad for 3 days! Of course, all the weight came back within a week of normal eating, and weight gain is no fun, but I think I could have kept it off if I would have stayed low-carb like I was planning. 🙂

Would I do this again? Maybe… It was SO NICE to know EXACTLY what to eat. Prep was easy, and it was all fairly cheap!

Is this something I would do long term? No. It is not sustainable, and seems to have almost no nutritional value AT ALL.

I looked at this as a challenge. It was fast, easy, and worth it to lose a few pounds. But, I never really felt like I wasn’t getting enough to eat. I think if I had been weak and irritable, I would have stopped.

If you are looking to see how this diet stand up to other 3 day diets, check out this post Egg Fast -vs- Military Diet.

So, if you are looking for weight loss and to lose the last 5 pounds, this might work for you… supposedly you can use this in a cycle of 3 days on 4 days off until you lose your weight. But I haven’t tried that…
