Starting weight: 289.2
Ending weight: 288.2
Try It Diet: 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar, 3 Tbsp Cranberry juice, 1 ½ cups hot water, and honey twice a day for 2 weeks.
I took the Apple Cider Vinegar with cranberry juice in hot water at first without honey. It was bitter. It tasted more like tea to me and it was okay enough to get down, but not great. As soon as I added honey though, I began to mildly enjoy my morning ‘tea’.
I would never want to do it plain… I had to sip mine because I have this thing called a gag reflex… which I assume the other sisters don’t have, because how else could you chug plain vinegar in a little water and not throw up? Anyways, I have this highly functional gag reflex, and if I chug things that are not water, I upchuck it. It then leaves that nasty taste in my mouth, which then means I can no longer get myself to drink that thing, which I did not want to happen with apple cider vinegar.
In the middle of the two weeks, I woke up at 8 (I’m still winning this insomnia thing!) and my stomach felt pretty upset, and all I wanted was my cup of ACV tea! Amazing, I actually wanted Apple Cider Vinegar! And when I took it, it settled my stomach enough to eat. Which is just fantastic!!
I found that it made going to sleep a little easier, (I would take it when I woke up and right before bed) because my stomach wouldn’t be hollering at me for trying to go to sleep hungry… so that was good.
It made it so that I wouldn’t eat as much in the mornings, because it helped to fill me up, and I would stay full till about 1:00 in the afternoon.
I’m not positive if any of the things they said it would do actually happened. I know it talks about slimming your belly, and me being me I didn’t realize I should have measured myself (Note for next time: Measure!).
But I do know, that for me, it has helped in the things that matter:
-
- When I was sick it helped my stomach (Which is awesome because I usually just don’t eat all day and complain)
- It made my sleeping easier (I know because for the 4 days I’ve been off of it I haven’t slept as well)
- It made it so I could eat anything before 10 in the morning without feeling sick.
- I lost 1 pound of weight. not great, but I can be happy for even the little victories.
I am thinking about getting back on it, but I might experiment with other herbal teas first. If none of those do the job, then I’ll be back on the ACV tea before you know it! . . . At least in the mornings.
If you have the luxury of sitting and sipping at a tea for a good 30 minutes in the mornings, then I think it could be taken for quite some time without anyone getting tired of it.
I would recommend it (My way. Not the chugging way. Because who knows if the people you meet have gagging reflexes?!) to see if it helps with anything you may have going on.
