Regular diet: I eat mostly carbs and protein, and sometimes veggies and fruit. I love potatoes, in any form they come. My favorite are chips and fries. Don’t judge. Occasionally I’ll eat go out for lunch and go for the whole hamburger and fries, super unhealthy, I know. I don’t usually crave sweet things, and if I do eat them it’s not very often. Salads are a no go for me. They leave me hungry 10 minutes later, and I see no point in making myself eat something I think is gross. Especially if I’m just going to eat something else soon after. My thing is, I love food, and I dislike diets that take food away from me. I will gladly add something to see if it helps, but if I can’t have my carbs I get sad… and then binge eat afterwards which isn’t a good thing.
Activity level: I’d like to think that I’m super active… but honestly the most walking I do is walking around the office to talk to my coworkers. I did spend a week in DC not to long ago, and I thought that I would continue with the same activity level I had there… but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. It is in the plans though!
Sleep and Stress Levels: I am currently battling insomnia, and for the moment I am winning. I’m roughly getting about 8ish hours of sleep a night, which is fantastic considering before it was around 5. I don’t feel very stressed. I have a super non stressful job, which is nice. I am also doing exercises to take care of the stresses in my life. I don’t have a spouse or kids, so nothing there. I still live at home with my parents, (I know, 25 year old living in the basement! JK, we don’t have a basement…) so they pay for everything in the home. So, I guess it’s mostly inner stress that I am working through.
Daily water consumption: I know I haven’t been as good in the past as I would like. I have been increasing my intake over the last few months. My only problem is I am a water snob. I can only drink specific water, so if I don’t have it, I don’t drink, which is a bad thing. Remember that little girl from the movie signs? I feel like her.
Physical/Medical Concerns: I am overweight, which causes a lot of problems. I hurt one of my legs 3 different times last year and because of that my back has been in pain (which I’ve been trying to fix). I also get shin splints super easily and so I have to slowly get into exercising. I also have adrenal fatigue which I have been taking supplements to help boost.
I do want to live healthier. I want to be able to hike if I want, or to fit into that dress and not have it look weird on my stomach. I want to be able to wear jeans again and not have this pooch above the waistband that makes it so I change my pants to something elastic. I would love to be able to eat anything I want and not have it effect my weight in a negative way. At this point I will try anything for a short time, and if it helps, then I can even continue with it.
